Senate Republican Leader Tommy Norment has been a fixture in Eastern Virginia political, business, legal, and civic life for decades. A graduate of Williamsburg's James Blair High School, Tommy graduated from VMI, then returned home to earn his law degree from William & Mary. After serving as Chairman of the James City County Board of Supervisors, Tommy was elected to the Virginia Senate in 1991. During his time in the Senate, Tommy has emerged as one of the most effective legislators in Richmond, working on every major issue before the General Assembly. As the leader of the Senate Republican Caucus, Tommy is focused on helping advance pro-business policies. He is a powerful, effective voice for Eastern Virginia families.
