Since joining the Senate in 2006, Republican Caucus Chairman Ryan McDougle has established himself as a key leader in the chamber. Ryan is a lifelong resident of Hanover. After graduating from James Madison University and earning a law degree from William & Mary, he served as a prosecutor in Hanover before establishing his solo law practice. After serving in the House of Delegates from 2002-2005, Ryan won a special election to the Senate in 2006. He then won subsequent full terms in 2007 and 2011. Ryan is an effective and responsive Senator for 4th District families.
