Meet the Senator: 

The son of a well-known Virginia political family, Senator Mark Obenshain has earned his position in his own right.  Long active in Republican politics and in the Harrisonburg community, Mark was first elected to the Virginia Senate in 2003 and has quickly risen through the ranks.  A key leader in the Virginia Senate, Mark has focused his legislative career on keeping taxes low, strengthening Virginia's education system, keeping Virginia families safe, and reforming government through free-market principals.
