A native of the 24th District and veteran of the U.S. Army, Senator Emmett Hanger has been an institution in Republican politics in Augusta County. In 1979, he was elected Commissioner of the Revenue for Augusta County becoming the County's first elected Republican since Reconstruction. Emmett was then elected to a seat in the House of Delegates. A four-term veteran in the Senate, Emmett uses his seniority and professional experience to advocate for the citizens of the 24th District. He is an expert in fiscal and agricultural policy.
