WILLIAMSBURG, VA, 2 JULY 2018: Senate Majority Leader Thomas K. Norment, Jr. (R-James City) today issued the following statement regarding the resignation of Republican Party of Virginia Chairman John C. Whitbeck, Jr.:

“For more than three years and through several challenging elections, John Whitbeck has guided the Republican Party of Virginia with energy and optimism. A consistent voice for unity, John wisely refocused RPV on the necessity of winning elections.

“A former nominee of the Virginia Senate Republican Caucus, John remained a steadfast supporter of our caucus. We are grateful to him for his service to our party and wish him success as he considers new opportunities to serve the Commonwealth, his neighbors in Loudoun County, and our party.”
