Senate Republicans Express Disappointment over Partisan Posturing by Incoming Minority Caucus

Richmond, Va, 18 November 2011:  The Virginia Senate Republican Caucus, which will serve as the majority caucus in the Senate of Virginia when the General Assembly convenes on January 11, 2012, today expressed their disappointment over a news release issued by the Senate Democratic Caucus regarding the organization of the Virginia Senate.

Incoming Senate Majority Leader Thomas K. Norment, Jr. (R-James City) noted, “Since the elections ended ten days ago, I find it disappointing that now the leaders of the Senate Democratic Caucus have decided to argue over the results.

Senate Republicans Announce Leadership Team

Richmond, Va, 16 November 2011:  The Virginia Senate Republican Caucus, which will serve as the majority caucus in the Senate of Virginia when the General Assembly convenes on January 11, 2012, formally announced the members of its leadership after a meeting this evening.

Senator Thomas K. Norment, Jr. (R-James City) will lead the Caucus, serving as Senate Majority Leader.  Senator Ryan T. McDougle (R-Hanover) will serve as Republican Caucus Chairman.  Senator Stephen D. Newman (R-Bedford County) will serve as Vice Chairman of the Caucus.

Richmond, Va, 8 November 2011:  Speaking on behalf of the Virginia Senate Republican Caucus, Senate Republican Leader Thomas K. Norment, Jr. congratulated Senator William M. “Bill” Stanley, Jr. and Senator-elect Bryce Reeves on their victories over Democrat incumbent Senators Reynolds and Houck, respectively, with all of the precincts reporting.
